"Rock Your Way" Challenge WINNERS!
As
all of our participants begin packing away their ‘blue suede shoes,’ we say
goodbye to yet another successful faculty and staff challenge. The conclusion
of the “Rock Your Way to Wellness” challenge brought about the celebration of
19 winners within 3 different teams. The staff ladies from the science
building, known as the Science Saints, quickly became winners after tracking
the most points at an outstanding 795,732 steps. Team members include Amanda
Nix, Kristen Reedy, Pam Olson, Cathy Johnson, and Renee Saamanen. After hours
of calculations, the competitive walkers from College Advancement, known as the
Blue Stone Rockers, took home the medal for the most log ins to the Healthy
Life site with at least 35 log ins each. Team members include Carrie Emslander,
Elizabeth Simonson, Janet Rosen, Lisa Roseth, Shannon Hoffman, and Aimee Fisher.
Lastly, after reading and evaluating a number of fine essays, the large, 8
member team of One Token Male claimed the prize with the most thought-out and
inspiring winning essay. Team members include Amanda Abrahamson, Anne Hansen, Brenda
Panger, Cathy Johnson, Joe Wicklund, Joel Claseman, Laurajae Johnson, and Pam
Lahti. Congratulations to each of our winners and to all that competed in this
exciting, team challenge!

Confident
Confident
by Brianna Buske
You always hear the saying,
“Confidence is key,” but what does this really entail? What does it mean to be
confident? It can mean many different things for different people. A good
summary of the term confident is to be sure of yourself and have no
uncertainties about your abilities, correctness, or about being successful. I believe
that confidence is truly believing in yourself and knowing that you can achieve
anything you put your mind to. It can be difficult to be confident at times.
You might have gotten a bad grade on a test or made a huge mistake during your
basketball game. Be confident in yourself; get back up. Work that much harder
next time to prove how well you can do. Confidence is key.
On
April 3rd, Storm’s Advocates tabled in the Union for our personality
buffs. The blue buff stands for Confidence. The other four buffs are: black=Fearless,
white=Faithful, purple=Compassionate, and yellow=Hilarious. Join us again on
April 24th for the annual Reif Run! We will have a table next to the
registration table for the run. If you haven’t picked up your personality buff
yet, come grab one! Declare your personality and wear your buff as you strive
through the run! See you there!
